The Berkshire Carousel Art Committee (BCAC) would like to invite you to participate in an exciting local art project, the Berkshire Carousel. This volunteer project is the creation of the first wooden hand carved carousel in New England in almost 100 years. Over 130 volunteers have been involved in the carving and painting of carousel figures, fund raising and designing this wonderful work of art. BCAC would specifically like you to consider submitting a painting to actually be on the carousel itself in one of the rounding boards (outer panels) or center panels surrounding the operating mechanism. The art will depict the culture, beauty and/or history of the Berkshires.
Applications should be completed and submitted by November 22, 2010. Reviews and selections by BCAC will be completed in 2010 and artists will be asked to complete paintings by June 1, 2011.
